Enjoyable

As short as it was, it was enjoyable. I honestly can't wait to see you do this.

However, PLEASE show a non-silhouette version of Nyan-zilla at some point in the actual eps! The world needs this to be done!

Kreid responds:

I shall do it as an art piece at the very least

Heh, awesome.

When I was watching this, it felt more like I was watching an episode of the old Legend of Zelda cartoon that aired alongside the Super Mario Bros. Super Show. I was expecting Link to go asking for a kiss after winning, and to go "Well excuuuuuuse me" at some point as well. Though it didn't happen, it was very nicely written. I love the random "puppet play" humour that went on. But they still didn't answer how that spider got in!

Emptygoddess responds:

It's a spider. It just gets in. You can't keep spiders out.

Kudos!

Despite being a tribute animation, this was still something entirely on its own. From the little backstory you gave the characters, to the actual influence of the typical "health meter" from the games, it stood out as being quite unique from what you were trying to make a tribute for.

On top of this, yours was a lot more stylized. It had a lot more detail, I feel, than kansuto2.swf (I watched it before watching this). The Steelix, especially, felt very unique. It seemed like it had come out of a Viewtiful Joe game, which, for some reason, seemed to imprint that very idea across the rest of the animation. I do wonder what it would've been like if more of the animation was actually done like that.

NCH responds:

the critic to kansuto2 is that its animation is very simple, but its effects and transition, flow of animation made up/compensates for its simple animation, for my own take, I wanted to improve on both the animation and the effects/transition to it.

Awesomesauce!

This nice little reference to Samurai Jack is just awesome! And the twist ending was just gold! The animation was smooth and crisp, the colours were spot on, and at the end I found myself wanting to see more!

On another note, since you didn't quite label the exact songs you used nor do I have ANY knowledge of MGS games, what track is the one that starts with the ghost bursts in?

NightShadowTWO responds:

glad that you liked it. ghost bursting in score is from Metal Gear Solid 4 OST ; Desperate Chase

Hahaha, that was funny

I'm normally not a fan of cock jokes, but... HAH! I had some good laughs out of that. The Sonic the Hedgehog stuff was the best, I think. Of course, this could be because in one of them you had Sally Acorn in there. That was just awesome.

If you don't mind my asking, where the hell did you get those Sally and Rogue sprites anyway? I've searched all over to find sprites like those and found nothing.

Emanhattan responds:

ask ultramoron about it

Vince wins it in my books.

Vince's Version:

You had a good plot going with yours, and it was nice that you kept the sprites, sounds, and everything else limited to the Chrono Trigger world. However, the plot you made had no relation to the title, "The Escape". Your fight scenes were mediocre at best, and you used the entirely wrong backgrounds for "Magus' Lair".

Score: 7/10

Shin's Version:

The sound and your battle scenes were all you had going for you. There were a lot of typos, no seeming idea of plot (We're given no background as to why Crono is captive.), and you mixed up sprites from several different games (Backgrounds from MMX1 and MMX3, doors from MMX1 and MMZ, sprites from Chrono Trigger and MMZ), so you lost points in my book for that.

Score: 6/10

In my book, Vince wins.

Vinstigator responds:

I'm glad you liked mine better! Thanks for the review, Skye!

Sorry, but I think Vince wins it

Shin2k27 responds:

Only thing ill say is that the beginning tells u a bit of why chrono is captive but if i pull out the serie i intended to make, then ull know the full story. And whats wrong with using backgrounds from other game ?

For an intro, it's pretty nice

Like the title says, it's good for an intro.

However, I'm curious, what song is that? I'm currently working on a massive flash project myself, and song would be good for the main character's theme. If I could get a copy of it, I'd really appreciate it. :)

Jigaton responds:

its track one off of the new bad religion cd. its not due out for like a month or two, but i reversed the track and tweaked teh pitch so you can really only get it through me. But im happy to share. My aim name is Jigaton

Very enjoyable

It was nice to sit back and just watch all these different types of reviews. Pretty funny.

Anyway, can't wait for the 20th to see that CT movie. I'm sure it'll kick ass.

Vinstigator responds:

Thanks! Yes, the upcoming CT movie will kick ass :)

Can't wait to see the real thing.

That actually looked pretty good, although, in all honesty, I think the idea of Magus and Frog being mortal enemies is kinda ruined, since you could recruit Magus to your team in the game. Unless you have some event planned to CAUSE them to fight, then it might not be a good idea.

Vinstigator responds:

Yeah but it's not a sequel, it's a one time movie :)
